replacing old composite resin filling on labial site of maxillary left central incisor

a patient came with a chief complain on his upper left central incisor with big discoloration. asked for veneers, but i offered more conservative approach rather than placing veneers. after taking a proper informed consent, i started my dental treatment as seen on this video below.

this old-leaked composite resin on buccal had been there for more than 2 years. i had no idea on the previous situation why it is exist like that. at first, i put rubberdam, here i used nictone bluedam sheet to cover isolation from premolar to premolar. it gave me a broad working field.

after doing cavity preparation, i refined the cavity with diamond-coated ultrasonic tip (excavus tip from satelec). the filling was done in single shade only, thanks to the “cloud color” from Ceram-X Spheretec one from DentsplySirona that can mimic the natural color of tooth structure.

finishing and polishing were done with soflex (3M) and enhance (dentsplysirona). final result showed a predictable shading and contouring.

one day restodontic (endo resto) treatment of unfinished endodontic treatment on mandibular left first molar

a patient cam with an unfinished endodontic treatment of his lower left first molar. a class I cavity. after taking a proper informed consent, i started my dental treatment. this endodontic and final restoration were done in single visit.

the working diagnosis of this case was chronic apical periodontitis in unfinished endodontic treatment. why didn’t the endodontic done in one or two visits by previous operator? i didn’t get the answer, maybe the time limitation.

this case was done in one visit from apical to coronal. shaping was done with i3Gold files from Denjoy flooded with sodium hypochlorite 5,24% inside root canals with instrumentation process. agitation the irrigant with ultrasonic approach (irrisafe – satelec). like usual, i love placing composite resin after endodontic treatment. hehe.. so i did it again (and again!) hehe..
