Sometimes, I also updated my cases at Linkedin. 🙂 this topic will focus only on conservative dentistry cases such as restorative dentistry and endodontic or root canal treatment.

Restodontic (endodontic and restorative) treatment on mandibular left second premolar

a patient came with a spontaneous pain on her lower tooth, which came from a previously restored from another operator. overhanging restoration leads to plaque accumulation and gingival inflammation at the proximal. this tooth still vital and secondary caries had reached the pulp. after taking a proper informed consent, i started my dental treatment.

in order to a proper and clean access preparation in endodontic treatment, i did the removal of previous dental filling followed with gingivectomy. rubber dam then placed in order to create a proper isolation during restorative procedure in rewalling the distal wall with composite resin.

finished rewalling, i changed the isolation protocol from multiple teeth isolation to single tooth isolation. shaping was done with i3Gold files from Denjoy, agitation of irrigant inside root canal with passive ultrasonic irrigation (irrisafe – satelec), followed with obturation.

coronal seal was placed over the gutta percha with low shrinkage stress flowable composite resin. and final restoration was done with composite resin.
