replacing old composite resin filling on labial site of maxillary left central incisor

a patient came with a chief complain on his upper left central incisor with big discoloration. asked for veneers, but i offered more conservative approach rather than placing veneers. after taking a proper informed consent, i started my dental treatment as seen on this video below.

this old-leaked composite resin on buccal had been there for more than 2 years. i had no idea on the previous situation why it is exist like that. at first, i put rubberdam, here i used nictone bluedam sheet to cover isolation from premolar to premolar. it gave me a broad working field.

after doing cavity preparation, i refined the cavity with diamond-coated ultrasonic tip (excavus tip from satelec). the filling was done in single shade only, thanks to the “cloud color” from Ceram-X Spheretec one from DentsplySirona that can mimic the natural color of tooth structure.

finishing and polishing were done with soflex (3M) and enhance (dentsplysirona). final result showed a predictable shading and contouring.
