My Restodontic Journey on maxillary right first premolar
“it is my first time using XP Endo Shaper from FKG”

A patient came with a discomfort on his upper right tooth, food debris always stuck there and it is not easy to remove it. from clinical view, there was a cavity on distal of maxillary right first premolar with previous dental filling on occlusal. the proximal gingiva was inflamed, and many food debris stuck in between. the xray showed a deep cavity and apical lesion of endodontic origin. the diagnosis was chronic apical periodontitis
after taking a proper informed consent, i started my dental treatment as follows.

First visit:

1. Access preparation and gingivectomy
2. rubberdam placement with Hu-Friedy rubberdam clamp and sanctuary rubberdam sheet prior to restore the distal wall before endodontic treatment
3. matrix placement: Springclip matrix (TOR VM)
4. pre endodontic restoration on distal wall with composite resin
5. change rubberdam placement from multiple tooth to single tooth isolation with hu-friedy rubberdam clamp and sanctuary rubberdam sheet
6. Shaping with XP Endo Shaper (FKG) Attached on denjoy IM2C wireless endomotor, cleaning with sodium hypochlorite 5,24%, Citric Acid 40%, and agitated with PowerFlosser (waterpik)
7. obturation and coronal seal with low shrinkage stress flowable composite: Palfique bulkfill flowable (tokuyama)
8. xray evaluation at first visit showing a hermetic obturation

Second visit (7 days later)

1. Rubberdam placement: hu-friedy rubberdam clamp and nictone rubberdam sheet
2. incremental layer of composite resin placement: Palfique LX5 (Tokuyama)
3. adjusting, finishing, and polishing with Soflex (3M), Enhance (dentsplySirona)
4. Radiograhic examination with Vistaray 7.1 (Durr) showed a hermetic obturation, intact margin and homogeneous body of restoration. this will provide a predictable longevity of restoration.
