Around 6 months ago, a patient came to me to restore her broken molar tooth. The cavity was deep enough, and the marginal proximal gingiva was inflamed. The xray image showed no pulpal involvement, the dignosis was reversible pulpitis. At that time, i did Glass Ionomer filling (FUJI IX – GC), and asked the patient to coming for follow up for maximum 3 months (to make sure the pulpal condition).

Six months later, she came to me for follow up and fixing the filling. The tooth was symptomless. So, I reduced the GIC restoration and replace some of it with composite resin (Z250XT- 3M). I used circumferencial matrix in order to restore the palatal shape. Xray image showed a good marginal adaptation, and we can see the differrent opacity between GIC and Composite resin.
