Restoration on lower left first molar with previously failed composite resin filling

This case showing the importance of taking post op xray image to see the 3D filling.

My patient came with a pain on her lower left tooth. She got her tooth filled around 2011, and it was dislodged around 1 week ago. Radiographic image showed a deep cavity.

After taking proper informed consent, i started the dental treatment. I placed rubberdam (hufriedy rubberdam clamp, and blossom rubberdam sheet). Prepare the cavity, then put the greatercurve matrix. Cavity then cleansed with Chlorhexidine 2% (consepsis – ultradent) prior to bonding it with universal bond (single bond universal – 3M).

Bulkfill composite (filtek bulkfill – 3M) used as a dentin replacement, followed with Vit~l~escence (ultradent) as coronal part. Polishing with soflex (3M) and enhance polisher (dentsply).
Final xray evaluation with Vistaray 7.1 (durr) showed a homogenous filling, and intact margin.
