Endodontic Time: When (metal) Onlay Failed

A patient came with a spontaneous pain on his upper left tooth, and a gum boil at the gingiva. There were two teeth suspected as the cause of this infection, it could be one of it, or even both. So, i decided to take periapical xray with gutta percha to trace the infection through thr lession. Yet, the main cause was the first premolar.…
After taking proper consent, i started removing the onlay prior to start endodontic treatment.

Caries removal was done thoroughly to save remaining tooth structure as much as possible. Then, i rebuild up the distal wall using composite resin (Filtek Bulkfill from 3M) with Omni Matrix (Ultradent).
Cleaning and shaping was done with ProtaperNext (dentsply), and coronally sealed with low_shrinkage_stress flowable composite (filtek_bulkfill flow from 3M). Xray evaluation using VistsRay 7.1 at 70kV, 2mA, 0,08 seconds.
