A patient came with a chief complain about his sensitive sensation while drinking cold beverages. This tooth had been filled more than twice but the sensitive sensation still exist..
A radiographic image showed a marginal leakage, voids, and two kind of filling material. What surprised me that the amalgam was there under composite resin. The cavity is deep, the tooth still vital, no pain on percussion and palpation. 

Finally, i did replacement of this class 2 amalgam-composite sandwich restoration with all composite restoration (Estelite from Tokuyama) and SDR from Dentsply (we can see from the difference in radiographic opacity). The sectional matrix was triodent. Polishing done with Soflex from 3MESPE and Enhance from Dentsply. Radiographic image taken with durr sensor in 60kV, 3mA, 0,03s.
Hope the restoration will last long..
