Never say the cavity is small based on the initial or coronal appearance. The caries always sound, and the deep of the cavity should be checked properly by radiographic examination.

A patient came with a chief complain of lower left molar, food debris always stucked in between, and not easy to remove or clean the entrapped food debris. Radiographic image showed deep caries.
After taking proper informed consent, i started the dental treatment. I placed rubber dam (hu friedy rubberdam clamp and blossom rubberdam sheet) followed with cavity preparation and matrix placement (greatercurve matrix.
Then, i created class II cavity into class I cavity by putting layers of composite resin on the proximal site. I placed low shrinkage stress flowable composite resin (filtek bulkfill flowable – 3M) as dentin replacement. Then a put packabke composite resin (ceram X one – Dentsply) as coronal layer. Finishing and polishing was done with soflex (3M), and enhance (dentsply).
Radiographic examination was done with vistaray 7.1 (durr). It showed an intact restoration margin, & homogeneous (3 dimension) body of restoration.
Those will provide a predictable longevity of my restoration.
